DMP, founded more than 20-years ago, has grown to be one of the largest industrial machinery exhibitions in South China, even in Asia-Pacific. This is due to the rapidly developing economy of China, the development and upgrading of intelligent equipment manufacturing industries, as well as the production base of large machinery in the Pearl River Delta. The number of local and international buyers, as well as the exhibition area and exhibitors, are growing every year. During DMP a number high-standard forums and seminars were held, as well as the launch of new products. DMP became a platform for the sharing of technology and showcasing of new products. DMP has been named by the People's Government of Dongguan City as "Top Ten Exhibitions" and "Dongguan Key Brand Exhibition".Year 1999Early December saw the first DMP held at the Dongguan Gymnasium, which was 4000 sqm in size. There was no standard exhibition space in Dongguan at that time. Although the scale of the exhibition was small, it had good results.Year 2001DMP was relocated to the newly constructed Dongguan International Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition expanded to 16,000 square meters.Year 2002The GD Modern International Exhibition Center in Houjie (Dongguan) is now complete. DMP has been moved to the new center, and its size increased to 21,309 square meters.Year 2003-2007DMP's exhibition grows 30%-40% every year. In 2006, DMP exhibition covered 73,342 square meters.Year 2008-2009The scale of the show was also affected by the global financial crises. In 2008 and 2009, the scale of the show was 57,000 sqm.Year 2010-2014The scale of DMP has reached new heights with the continued rapid expansion of China's economy.
