A method of gravity-seismic sequential inversion, and its GPU implementation.

We introduce in this abstract a method of gravity and seismic sequentially inverting for both density and velocity. We use an iterative algorithm based on the correlation imaging algorithm for the gravity inversion; we use full waveform inversion for the seismic data inversion. For large data volumes, the GPU is used to speed up the computation. We introduce a method for gravity inversion based on the correlation imaging algorithm. It is an interactive method. First we calculate the correlation image of the observed anomaly. This value is between -1 to +1. Then we multiply this with a small density, and the value becomes the initial density model. This initial model is used to get the forward result. We also use it to calculate the correlation imaging of the misfit between the observed data and forward data. We use the linearity of the acoustic waves equation in the frequency domain for the seismic inversion method. With an initial velocity model, we get a good result. We need to use a link formula in order to convert density and velocity. In our method, we use Gardner's equation. The NVIDIA GPU as coprocessor for CPU was developed to meet the market's insatiable demand for high-definition, real-time 3D images. Compute Unified Device Architecture is a parallel software and programming environment developed by NVIDIA to address the challenges of traditional general-purpose GPUs.
