This shortage leads to 40% post-harvest losses, worth USD 430,000,000 per year. It also discourages processors (worth USD 64,000,000) from investing. Bangladesh requires at least 6.5 MMT (1,244) cold storages in order to achieve 10% cold storage infrastructure. Bangladesh's cold chain market is estimated to be worth USD 1.3 billion. Bangladesh is therefore poised to be the world's largest Cold Chain Industry market.
