SUGAREX Indonesia is described as Indonesia's largest specialised sugar and bioethanol technology event, held once every two years and bringing together sugar companies and their supporting industries in Surabaya. It combines an exhibition with a conference and technology presentations, and the organiser reports more than 3,000 registered visitors, over USD 250 million in generated transactions, 100+ exhibiting brands and more than 4,000 sqm of exhibition space for the last edition.

- This is the 8th edition of the biennial show
- Visitor pre-registration opens three months before the event; visitors can also register on site with a business card
- Minors aged 16 and under are not admitted to the exhibition hall
Organiser and supporters
- Organised by PT Fireworks Indonesia, part of the Fireworks Trade Media Group, established in 2008, whose divisions cover trade exhibitions, trade publications, industrial roadshows, trade conferences and market intelligence
- Supporting associations include P3GI (Indonesian Sugar Research Centre), AGI (Indonesian Sugar Association), IKAGI and PT LPP Agro Nusantara
- The organiser also publishes a fraud notice warning exhibitors and visitors about parties falsely claiming to represent the event
